And it was on tarmac, too! Granted, the rear didn't step out that much but it still happened!

Weight transition is a hell of a thing :)

Do they sell an FWD car with an air brake yet? (To keep the ass end planted)
I'm looking at you, TT/TTS/TTRS

I remember when it first happened to me, I was throwing the car in a corner in a dirt road near home. I didn't even know it was that easy. The car oversteered, the Oppositelock came into action, I entered the next corner like a pro.
#therallytakeover
Next day: more speed, more wheel turning. Result, me facing the wrong way of the street. Oppo wasn't oppo enough to countersteer. Lesson learned.

I actually got it to happen on pavement thanks to this helpful video:

Solution: Ass-engined FWD car.
That'd be a huge success with the enthusiast crowd, I think!

I'll try to watch the video as soon as I get home. Youtube is blocked here.
I managed to do it on pavement too a few weeks later, when I was aware of the car's balance.
But out of curiosity, what does the video say exactly? What car were you driving?

I was driving my Neon but the video is Tiff Needell, driving a Ford Puma, showing you how to use the Scandinavian Flick to start a powerslide in a FWD car.

Sounds awesome. I have to watch this.
Although, the scandi flick is pretty much what I was using, but some theory from Tiff can't hurt.
I did it in a VW Saveiro G3. The rear end was very light.

I love hearing about people inducing oversteer.
If you like drop throttle, drive a Focus ST. You MUST!

Sure is fun! People seem surprised when I tell them I struggle with oversteer when my tires are cold on my GTI. Always a good feeling :)
